Ang Ang’s Roastery

Coffee culture has become popular amongst Malaysians as of late. Back in the days, it was our grandparents and parents that needed a cup of kopi-o to start their day. For the younger generations now, coffee is an anytime necessity. They have a total of seven outlets: 1 in Kulim, 2 in Bukit Mertajam, 1 in Simpang Ampat, 3 on Penang Island (Greenlane, Beach Street and Tanjung Bungah). Ah Huat Kai Si Hor Fun

Tucked behind some apartments in Sungai Ara is the small and quiet Lavender Food Court. Located here, is this gem of a stall Ah Huat Kai Si Hor Fun. The food stall is run by Penang-born Jethro Lee who used to be a long time resident in Ipoh. With a mission to bring the flavours of Ipoh to Penang, Mr. Lee boils two separated broths daily. On a recent trip down to Shah Alam, we managed to squeeze in some foodie time and discovered Kanbe Ramen at 163 Retail Park, Mount Kiara. There’s a cozy Korean restaurant located at the Golden Triangle, Bayan Lepas. With its friendly atmosphere and cute white chick adorning it’s bright yellow signboard, it’s no wonder that Sam Gye Bab steals the attention whenever we are in the area.
